JSTOR - The Scholarly Journal Archive JSTOR offers access to the full-text versions of predeminantly Anglo-American journals starting with the first volume up to the so-called 'moving wall' (the time period between the last issue available in JSTOR and the recent issue of a journal, usually 2-5 years, depending on the journal). We have access to the Arts & Sciences I Collection (119 titles), the Arts & Sciences II Collection (125 titles) and the Business Collection (47 titles). __________________________________________________________________________________________________ America's Historical Newspapers America's Historical Newspapers by Readex is one of the most comprehensive digital collections in the United States of America with between 1,690 to 1,922 published papers. Alongside regional newspapers, it includes papers of national importance from 50 states, aiming to represent a coverage of all American regions. Among them are German-American periodicals of the 18th and 19 Century. The National License series, funded by the German Research Foundation fully covers series I, II, and – with a few exceptions – III. There is also a selection of titles from series IV and V, which cover a longer period of time. Access to the “American State Papers, 1789 to 1838, is included. Period covered: 1690 – 1922 Annual Reviews Electronic Back Volume Collection Annual review publishes exclusively 32 volumes of critical, scientific articles that present the state-of-the-art in special subjects. The editorial board consists of recognized scholars from Stanford, the University of California, Princeton, and Harvard. The archive is expanded annually with the entire year's publications, so no gap occours between the backfiles and the current licence. The database includes full-texts of around 80 British popular literary magazines from the 17th to the 20th century. This databank is availabe to you as a part of a national licence. Cambridge Journals Digital Archive This "digital archive" consists of designated volumes of journals from the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences with a total of 112 titles. The main subject emphasis includes history, political science and International Relations, Regional Studies, Classical Studies and Foreign Languages and Literatures. De Gruyter Reference Global / Walter de Gruyter Archiv Electronic backfiles from the Walter de Gruyter publishing house. The 119 titles cover a wide range of subjects. It should be noted that not all the titles dating from 1998 are available. The archive extends up to the current edition. The "Moving Wall" is moved forward by a year, every year. Period covered: 1998 - DigiZeitschriften DigiZeitschriften is a research service which offers an electronic archive of core German journals of scientific importance. These are mainly journals with a long-established tradition in their field. All magazines are available in full-text from their first year up to a so-called “moving wall” (about 3-5 years before the current year, depending on the publication). Period covered: 1843 - 2006 Editoria Italiana Online / Periodici The database contains 198 journals from major Italian scientific publishers in the humanities and social sciences. The title list is increased annually by approximiately 25 journals. The national licence for the EIO Periodici archive includes all available archive editions up to the current editions. Emerald Fulltext Archive Database Emerald Fulltext Archive Database has full-text articles from 175 journals published between 1994 and 2000 by Emerald. A large number of the magazines are in the field of economics, plus library and information science and engineering and material science. Integrum World wide Itegrum World Wide is the largest full-text database of Russia and the CIS, which currently has over 360 million documents. The electronic full-texts, in Russian and English, focus on the areas of politics, culture, economy and Russian society and the CIS states. It includes, among other things, hourly updated articles from the Russian and British press (regional and national newspapers and magazines, television and radio monitoring services, and press agencies), Statistics (Goskomstat), legal documents, government publications, patents (Rospatent), literature, bibliographic databases of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INION), internet sources, address and telephone books, the Yellow Pages, etc. Karger Journals / Karger Journals Archiv Electronic backfiles (from 1998) of 76 titles of the Karger Medical Publishing House. It should be noted that institutions which do not have a contract for access to the current content can nevertheless gain access to journals up to and including the year 2007. The following areas are covered: Business law, company law, public law, air and space law and international arbitration. This data bank is available to you as part of a national license. The Nation Digital Archive The Nation Digital Archive contains the complete full-text editions of the magazine "The Nation" from the first edition in 1865 to the current 2010 edition. The oldest continuously published US magazine, "The Nation" is a critical political and cultural journal which for 143 years has been an opinion leader on the political and cultural development of the United States and elsewhere. Because of its left-liberal orientation it has an important archive of source material with which to obtain a broad insight into different positions on political and social issues, particularly in comparison to other U.S. media. In addition, the books, theater and film reviews offer an interesting basis for cultural studies. Period covered: 1865 - 2010 Nature Nature is, next to Science, one of the world's most prestigious scientific journals. The offer consists of 4 archive segments with the full-text of the weekly, multidisziplinary journal Nature, from 1869 to 2007. In addition the archives of an assortment of monthly nature research journals, from 1983-2007, are included with the following titles: Nature Biotechnology (NBT), Nature Genetics (NG), Nature Medicine (NM), Nature Structural and Molecular Biology (NSMB). Period covered: 1880 -1996 17th - 18th Century Burney Collection Newspapers The database contains digitalized British newspapers and pamphlets (a total of 1,270 titles) of the 17 and 18 Centuries from the Collection of Reverend Charles Burney (1757-1817). The content ranges from parliamentary publications, daily news from London, the British Empire, neighboring countries and their royal families and governments. Social Sciences & Humanities (UDB-EDU) The database with reference to Slavic and Eastern Europe offers a series of magazine articles covering humanities and social science topics. There are numerous representatives from the magazines on literature and language, including the so-called “Tolstoy journals” (“thick” journals), scientific and popular literary magazines, and journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences, among others. Springer Online Journal Archives This archive contains the full texts of over 800 journals published by Springer Verlag (including Kluwer), in most cases from the journal’s first issue to the year 2000. Period covered: 1980 - 2007 Times Literary Supplement Centenary Archive (TLS) The data bank contains the full text of the Times Literary Supplement published from 1902 to 1990. The Times Literary Supplement reviews journals in all academic areas as well as fiction and current theater productions, films, and art exhibits. The data bank therefore provides insights into the literary life and the opinions of critics in the 20th century. The TLS Centenary Archive is a searchable index for all the TLS issues published between 1902 and 1990. It provides access to a facsimile page of the desired article and identifies the author of the article, information not revealed in the print version of the TLS before 1974. The data bank contains more than 250,000 reviews, letters, poems, and articles on over 5,000 topics in the TLS in their original context. This data bank is available to you as part of a national license. Trans Tech Publications Archives Archive of 10 journals and proceedings in the period 1984 to 2008, published by Trans Tech Publications, and online available publications (in total, 1,320 volumes of approximately 400,000 pages). In the field of modern solid state and materials research, the wide range of specialized archives is a particularly valuable platform for scientific literature, with its well-known and popular databases listing magazines such as, for example, Material Science Forum, Defect and Diffusion Forum, Key Engineering Materials. Wiley InterScience Backfile Collection This data bank consists of 92 journals in 9 of the 12 backfile collections that were available on the market in 2005: Analytical Sciences (15 journals); Applied Chemistry, International Edition (1 journal); Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics (16 journals); Cell Development and Biology (13 journals); Chemistry Societies (4 journals); Chemistry (11 journals); Materials Science (14 journals); Numerical Engineering (8 journals); and Polymer (10 journals). The core of the collection consists of more than 150 years of volumes from Liebig’s Annals of Applied Chemistry and Chemistry Reports.
